- Determining whether or not a Canadian address needs to be put on the label
- Determining what hazard symbols / statements must be on the label, by performing assessments of the supplied literature for Toxicity, Corrosivity, and Flammability for each route and subcategorizing each assessment
- If no specific technical data is available from the client (i.e.: pH of the finished product), then recommending various labs who can perform this testing according to the CCCR requirements. Please see Use of an independent third-party lab
- Ensuring the above data is based on the appropriate guidelines / industry testing standards
- Determining which ingredients must be listed on the label (and which do not)
- Performing an assessment of the regulations (if applicable) to see if the Child Resistant Container (CRC) and Leak Test requirements apply
- Ensuring proper labelling claims (acceptable versus unacceptable claims) so one does not make claims prohibited for the type of product
- Ensuring proper naming of ingredients, and their correct order
- If the product and/or its packaging is listed as “biodegradable”, checking to see if this claim was evaluated to appropriate standards

- Providing a short report for each report, explaining our evaluations
- If requested, forwarding the first batch of reviewed labels to the most appropriate Product Safety Officer of Health Canada’s Consumer Product Safety Bureau (CPSB)
- Once the English version of the label has been approved by the CPSB or by the client, performing the French translations using specific government wording. See English - French Translation.
- Creating MSDS’s and/or convert them into Canadian / Internationally-acceptable formats
- Reviewing all of your proposed advertising materials, to make sure they comply to Canadian regulations. This would include brochures, websites, and any other forms of advertising.
